Whether you have worn contact lenses for many years or are looking to try them for the first time, we look forward to making your contact lens experience the best that it can be.
Soft Lenses
These lenses are comfortable to wear and must be replaced monthly, bi-weekly or daily depending on the type your eyecare provider determines is best for you. They can provide correction for most prescriptions including astigmatism. Today, with the introduction of newer materials like silicone hydrogels, which allow more oxygen to the eye, patients find it easier than ever to wear soft lenses comfortably.
Gas-Permeable (GP) Lenses
Made of moderately flexible plastics, GP lenses offer sharp vision and correct most vision problems. They are more durable than soft contact lenses and can be easier to handle and care for but require a longer adaptation period and consistent wear to maintain adaptation.
Multifocal Lenses
In both soft and GP designs, multifocal lenses offer patients both distance and near vision correction like a pair of bifocal glasses. This can mean freedom from reading glasses! We are experts in prescribing multifocal lenses.
Color Contact Lenses
Enhance your eye color or even change it completely. Colored contact lenses are fun and come in a variety of colors for both light and dark eyes.
Daily Contact Lenses
Daily contact lenses are our preferred option, as they are the healthiest and most convenient type of lens. Putting a fresh sterile lens on the eye everyday greatly increases comfort and reduces the risk of complications. There is also no need for solution or cases. Ask your doctor if you are a candidate for daily contact lenses.
Scleral Contact Lenses
Specialty lenses that provide great vision and comfort (better than RGPs!) for those with Keratoconus, Irregular Corneas, post surgical corneas, or for people with Dry Eye Disease.
Orthokeratology
Overnight lenses that mold the cornea so that no glasses or contact lenses are needed during the day! Proven in studies to reduce the progression of myopia in children. Learn more on our Myopia CONTROL or Corneal Reshaping and Laser Vision Correction pages.
Regardless of the type of contact lenses you wear, an annual eye exam is recommended to ensure the continued good health of your eyes. Request an appointment for an assessment and advice at Virginia Eyecare Center in Burke, and we will be in touch with you shortly.
