Introducing Dr. Diana Mamoud!

We have some exciting news: we are adding several more babies to the Virginia Eyecare Center Family! Dr. Shay and Dr. Tim will be welcoming a baby boy in September, Dr. Huebner is due with her 3rd child in November, and Dr. Procopio and his wife are expecting their first baby, a girl, in November!

With this addition to her family, Dr. Huebner has decided that she will stay home to take care of her young children, and she will be leaving Virginia Eyecare Center at the end of July. We are very grateful for everything she has contributed during her 9 years with the practice. We are so happy for her and will miss her greatly!

We are excited to announce that Dr. Diana Mamoud will be joining our team in August. We chose a doctor from several amazing candidates, but we truly feel that Dr. Mamoud is the best fit for our office, as she embodies our commitment to providing the highest quality, individualized care using the best technology in a compassionate manner.

Dr. Mamoud grew up in Northern Virginia and received her undergraduate degree in biology from Virginia Tech in 2018. She graduated with honors from Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 2024 and received the Gas Permeable Contact Lens Excellence Conforma Laboratories Award. During her training, she gained experience in full-scope optometry, including comprehensive eye exams for all ages, dry eye management, glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration, cataract evaluations, diabetic eye exams, and specialty contact lens fittings such as scleral lenses and rigid gas permeable lenses.

Dr. Mamoud also received training in pre-operative and post-operative care for various ocular surgeries as well as examining veterans who suffered from traumatic brain injuries during her rotation at the Philadelphia Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Dr. Mamoud loves to work with kids and spent the last year working in a pediatric eye care clinic for low-income families. She has a special interest in Pediatrics, Myopia Control, Dry Eye Disease, and Contact Lenses.

Outside of work, Dr. Mamoud loves to spend time with her husband, who is also an optometrist, and their toy poodle. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, watching reality TV, eating delicious food, and going to the gym.

She can’t wait to meet all of you!
