Bausch & Lomb Recall Notice

Dear Patient,

Our team at Virginia Eyecare Center wants to notify you that the contact lens solution PeroxiClear was recalled by the manufacturer, Bausch&Lomb, on September 30, 2016. We recommend that all patients discontinue PeroxiClear and use a different contact lens solution to clean their lenses. We recommend switching to Clear Care, which is a similar peroxide based solution.

The company stated in a press release that the voluntary recall “represents low risk to the consumer and is unlikely to cause serious health consequences” and that it decided on this action out of “an abundance of caution.”

“Testing showed occasional occurrences where the residual peroxide remaining in the lens case after neutralization was out of product specification,” Bausch +Lomb said.
