Dear Friends and Family of Virginia Eyecare Center,
After almost 29 years of being an optometrist, 27 of which have been in Burke, Virginia, I have decided to retire. I will continue to work and see patients through June 27th, 2020.
The reason I feel it is possible for me to step away from Virginia Eyecare Center is because of the tremendous confidence I have in my talented team; my current partners, Dr. Courtney Shay and Dr. Tim LaFreniere have been with me since 2012. They will continue to manage the practice by focusing on excellent health care and always trying to exceed your expectations! Dr. Kathryn Huebner has been with us since 2016. Like Dr. Shay and Dr. LaFreniere, Dr. Huebner, was also at the top of her class and possesses excellent diagnostic and patient care skills. I am very proud to say that I have handpicked each of these fabulous doctors – I like to think they are younger, smarter and better versions of me! If you have not had the opportunity to work with or meet these optometrists, I will make every effort to introduce you to them in the future. Of course, the practice would not be able to work without our tremendous staff, who will be here to help you through every phase of your visits to Virginia Eyecare Center. They will always provide you with the patient care and professionalism you have come to expect from them.
I also want to assure you that all is fine with me and my family…I will continue to live in Burke and be a patient at Virginia Eyecare Center! I will be slightly less busy with family, as my two boys are now young men and quite independent, much to my husband’s and my delight! I will enjoy spending more time with my parents and other family who live nearby. I really do want to be a part of making the world an even better place, so I am busy exploring some worthwhile opportunities at several local charities. That being said, I will be very disappointed if you see me around and don’t say hello and spend a few minutes catching up with me. I have truly enjoyed the friendships we have built over all these years. I think you know that you mean far more to me than the average patient-doctor relationship. I have learned so much from you and truly feel you are “my people” for life! I thank you for sharing your stories, joys, sorrows, many very good recipes, jokes and lots of laughter! You have made my professional life tremendously satisfying and happy.
I am forever grateful for the honor of you choosing me and my staff to care for you and your families’ eyeballs! I know that everyone at Virginia Eyecare Center appreciates the opportunity to serve you and will stay true to our mission statement of providing superior vision care and extraordinary customer service.
